The Southern Theater - A Community for artists
We believe our role at The Southern supports the theater’s adventurous spirit and its goal to create and foster a community for artists.
The Southern Theater provides a home for artists, giving them the freedom to focus on what matters most, their art. We add new value by fostering a community that serves the artist's need for stability, for a sense of place, for the opportunity to experiment and as a resource to learn and grow. We offer audiences a unique experience that ignites their imaginations and expands their perspectives in an extraordinary historical theater.
KIND - Our official snack provider!
Ae is built upon the strengths of volunteers. We do this work because we value our community.
From the healthy snacks we make to the way we work, live and give back, our focus is on making the world a little kinder, one snack and act at a time (no arm-twisting here, promise). One simple belief underpins it all: There's more to business than just profit.
This belief inspired us to start the KIND Movement - our mission to spread and celebrate kindness. Small act or big, we encourage it - from writing a thank you letter to someone who deserves it to volunteering with an organization you care about. Every day, our community (aka YOU!) brings us one step closer to our goal of making kindness a state of mind. Learn more here.
Ae partners with The Food Group of Minnesota to fight hunger.
Spread the kindness, artists! The Ae Film Fest - Year Three aims to raise at least 250 pounds of food for our local community!
The Food Group is a local hunger relief nonprofit focused on healthy food access. Established in 1976, they provide nutritious food and support services to over 200 hunger relief partners, including food shelves, on-site meal programs, mobile food shelf sites, and Fare For All sites throughout the state. Through their innovative group of partners and direct programs they work to provide good foods in the good fight against hunger. The Food Group helps its network serve over two million individuals per year.
-If MN food shelves were open 24/7 more than 6 people would visit a food shelf every minute.
-1 in 10 Minnesotans struggle with hunger insecurity.
-In Hennepin County specifically, the food insecurity rate is 11.5%
Whitecap Creative - The official maker of Ae's award rounds
We hand out the awards, they make them!
Whitecap Creative is laser focused on spreading the gospel of our high-quality craftsmanship and unparalleled creative collaboration.
There's a motto that echoes through the walls here; "Yeah, we can do that". We thrive on taking new projects, challenges and duels…okay maybe not duels but if you can think it, we can laser it. We'll put it this way, if laser were a milkshake, we’d drink it up. It’s our whole grain bread and sweet cream butter. Have we made you hungry? Perhaps you'd like to take a break and nosh on something nutritious. No? Okay then, we'll continue.
Whitecap's founders, Benjamin Paparella and Scott Gurrola have an extensive background in art
direction and design. Now wielding a laser as their creative weapon of choice, they aim to break the sea of sameness and offer an alternative to traditional printing. They began by making cool she–…
things. Things that made you say, “Whoa” and "You made that?". While they still want to make that stuff,
they also want to help bring your ideas to life. Whether you're a designer without a laser, or a barista
with a vision, Whitecap is the method to transform your woulda-coulda's into did it-made its.
When partnering with Whitecap, you come to expect superb, hand-crafted, laser focused work. After
all, we're master engravers, designers and collaborators—we are Whitecap Creative.
